Abstract

The blooming significance in self-employment is obvious . Entrepreneurship and self-employment are recognised as important development factors for job creation and distribution. That's why this is gaining a lot of traction among governments and policymakers. For this purpose in India , the Periodic Labour Force Survey (PLFS) aims to collect panel data on households in India's urban areas(sampling). Every urban household is visited four times in a rotational panel arrangement . Until it is being replaced by a new data set . Although the survey appears to have followed this sampling framework the released data have serious inconsistencies in the coding of key variables that are necessary to track households over multiple visits. We developed a linking process on the foundation of individual & household data i.e correctly link practically all records from these two years in this study. Finally , we analyse the transition of job loss and gain as an indicator for determination of employment status.
