Abstract
To analyse the determinants determining SOC content, we examine soil profiles from the Ganga and Gujarat alluvial plains for grain size, organic carbon (OC) content, and bulk carbon isotope composition. Soil samples were gathered from active soil profiles and paleosol deposits in a variety of climatic settings for this study (humid and arid). The study's main goal was to assess and compare the effects of soil texture, climate, and the age of organic matter on SOC concentration in the soil.
