Abstract
The possibility of neutrinos having mass has intrigued many theoretical and experimental physicists since the last sixty to seventy years. Recent experiments have solidified the massive nature of neutrinos and more and more effort has been put to the measurement of the oscillation parameters. On the other hand the massiveness of neutrinos have inspired arguably the most plausible theory explaining the baryon asymmetry in the Universe, leptogenesis. Central to leptogenesis is the concept of lepton number violation, which arises from the existence of right-handed neutrinos and the observed neutrino oscillations. We explore the seesaw leptogenesis mechanism, where the heavy right-handed neutrinos are responsible for both leptonic asymmetry and light small neutrino mass.
