Abstract
Vector Like Leptons (VLLs) are a part of many UV-complete extensions of the Standard Model (SM). This thesis targets to develop a strategy to search for light flavoured VLLs in the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. Initially a prompt lepton identification criteria optimization studies are presented in order to be more sensitive to the signal events. Following which the thesis explores the possibility of using a Signalvs- Signal-vs-Background Deep Neural Network to discriminate an events into various signal categories (on the basis of event topology) and background category. The analysis strategy is kept as general as possible in order to not just capture signals from VLL under the specific models, but be sensitive to other non-VLL theories with similar event topologies.
