Abstract

Dark matter (DM) can be hypothesized in many ways and introducing a new scalar field in f(R) gravity is one of them which is widely used to describe the nature of dark matter (DM). A light scalaron field is a scalar field in f(R), specially in R² gravity which can play the role of cold dark matter (CDM). It has been claimed that after electroweak crossover due to the evolution of Higgs field, the oscillation of this field started and it can represent cold dark matter. In the same system, this project aims to verify the approximation used to prove the claim. Since the mentioned claim is verified to be valid, the project then tries to reproduce the evolution of this field in another way and tries to explain the details evolution of the field in much more simpler but similar system where the field behaves as a standard scalar below the temperature T for which 3H(T) ≈ m (misalignment mechanism).
