Abstract

This study investigates static spherically symmetric stars in cosmological backgrounds. We develop Tolman-Oppenheimer-Volkov equations for static stars embedded in Einstein’s static universe and deSitter universe. These equations are numerically solved for polytropic equation of state and the properties of mass, pressure and radius of the stars are studied. We find significant cosmological influence due to the background universe on the properties of these stars especially at smaller radius of universe.
