Abstract

We present a study on some Higgs Sectors which are Beyond the Standard Model, and in particular, upon models containing Higgs triplets. A description of the Two- Higgs Doublet Model(2HDM) and how the various types of 2HDM Models are formulated is made initially in the build-up to the study of models with triplets. The first aim of this study involves studying the Higgs Triplet Model(HTM) and confirming that the Vacuum Expectation Value(VEV) acquired by the triplet needs to be much smaller compared to the the VEV acquired by the doublet in the model, in order to adhere to the constraints upon the model. The second aim involves studying the parameter space of the Georgi-Machacek(GM) Model, a model with triplets which does not require the triplet VEV to be small. The two-dimensional projections in the m5−sH plane and the m3−sH plane, of the seven-dimensional parameter space describing the model, are studied through the GMCALC Fortran program. This is done by first imposing various existing constraints to obtain allowed regions of parameter space in both the planes. An attempt is then made to impose different additional constraints upon the allowed parameter space points, via the Yukawa couplings of the model.
