Abstract

The Central Andes' Uturuncu volcano of central Andes, has been recognized as one of the important volcanoes in the region. The Altiplano-Puna magma body (APMB), a huge low-velocity zone that feeds magma to Uturuncu and is assumed to be a source of the deformation seen here, has been discovered. And its geological history is one among the point of attraction for study the region. Parents of well spread temporary seismic sensors in a 90 km by 90 km zone around and on Uturuncu volcano is gives opportunity to study this region. To study the lateral variation and MOHO depth in this region we specially approach teleseismic receiver function to compute velocity model beneath this area. The predicted velocity model is fully supported by the high magnitude earthquake recorded in these stations.
