Abstract
Photoredox catalysis in recent years has become powerful tool for valuable transformation in organic chemistry. Due to their unusual mode of reactivity and the reaction conditions being extremely mild, the photoredox catalyst have been used in synthesis of natural products. Coumarins are one the important organic compounds that are obtained from natural sources. Coumarin derivatives proved to have various uses such as in perfumes, laser dyes but most importantly they are regarded as suitable drug candidate having pharmacological activities like anticoagulant, anticancer, anti-inflammatory. Many studies have been made previously for the synthesis of coumarin derivatives. In this report we are using the strategy of photoredox catalysis for the alkylation of coumarin derivatives via C(sp3) ─H functionalization.
