Abstract
Chapter one provides an introduction to lanthanides and discussed the background literature. Chapter two includes the detailed description of synthetic procedures and experimental strategies employed to perform the work described in this thesis. Chapter three describes the motivation and objective behind this work, synthesis, characterization of fluoride nanocrystals using XRD, TEM, SEM and fluorescence spectroscopy, results and discussion, and conclusion.
