Abstract
The thesis contains work in the field of membrane biophysics focusing mainly on free membrane fluctuation with and without surface tension. And also some amount of data analysis is also presented in this thesis. Cell membrane performs a lot of biological function. Cell membrane sends signal for all biological process required to do. There are lots of thing are still unknown about how membrane perform these complex functions. There may be some physical factor responsible for controlling these functions. We are trying to develop a simple physical model which can describe some of the biological function. We are examining if this surface area regulation of cell membrane can explained in term of pinning and tension. Initial groundwork needed to prove our hypothesis has been done here. We simulate free membrane fluctuation with zero and non-zero surface tension. PSD value from simulation is close that of experimental value.
