Abstract

Nitrogen Vacancy (NV) centers have emerged as a promising platform for quantum information processing and quantum sensing due to their ability to maintain coherence even at room temperature. Long coherence times, paired with an understanding of environmental noise, are essential for building scalable and reliable quantum technologies. In this MS thesis, I focused on achieving coherent control over an ensemble of NV centers at room temperature. I demonstrated that applying dynamical decoupling sequences significantly enhances coherence time—from a few microseconds to several milliseconds. Additionally, by using sequences like CPMG, I extracted the noise spectral function a↵ecting the NV system, o↵ering insight into the sources of decoherence.
