Abstract

A mesoionic N-heterocyclic thione has been utilized for the synthesis and characterization of intriguing main group complexes. Owing to its high nucleophilicity, it enabled the preparation of a Zn(II)-based complex. Building on this, we further explored and successfully synthesized a dicationic zinc species. And calculated the HOMO-LUMO energies of the zinc(II) complex. These main group complexes were characterized using NMR spectroscopy and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) techniques.
