Abstract
Controlling the site selectivity for distal C–H activation for arenes has always been a challenge because of the long distance of meta & para-C–H bonds from the directing chain group. To achieve site-selectivity, various directing group approaches have been reported, including covalent or noncovalent interactions. In this report, we have shown an efficient method utilizing iridium/aluminium bifunctional catalysis with the help of Lewis acid-base interaction to achieve unprecedented meta-selective C–H borylation of 3-arylpropanamides and 4- arylbutanamides. For this purpose, a newly synthesized bipyridine ligand containing 1,1’-binaphthyl moiety at the 4-position of bipyridine has been utilized.
