Abstract
we have addressed the lattice immiscibility between Ni and Ln to create a series of Ni-Ln heterogeneous alloys using the non-aqueous heat-up colloidal reduction process. 9 Before adding any lanthanoid, the flower-like self-assembly of 18–20 nm Ni NPs consists of 100 wt% hcp phases. After doping the Ln elements into it, the lattice volume increased significantly, leading to the lattice's heterogeneity, which boosts the ORR activity. TEM analysis suggested that Ni-Pr dominates the local structure of (101) and (100) planes. From XPS, inverse charge transfer phenomena were confirmed. Pr doping shows the best H2O2 selectivity up to 96.02% at 0.5V vs RHE, and we can draw an H2O2 selectivity trend depending on volume mismatch.
