Abstract
Chapter 1 illustrates a general introduction of dye sensitised solar cells, their working principle Molecular Design of organic dyes for DSSC. Chapter 2 reviews the scheme of synthesis of cyclopenta[c]thiophene. It includes the detailed description of synthetic procedures, experimental strategies and geagents that are employed to perorm the whole work, embodied in this thesis. Chapter 3 deals with the result and discussions, the NMR and Mass spectra of dyes and the 1II NMR data corresponding to the synthons.
