Abstract
The project involves designing a drug delivery mechanism for the delivery of anti-cancer drugs using a composite micelle encapsulating drug for targeted drug delivery and release using appropriately designed optical tweezers. The idea is to employ the micelle containing the molybdate so as to enable its trapping by an optical tweezer. All the sample solutions with varying concentrations of molybdate are prepared and the stability observed. The DLS and zeta pot. Measurements give a fair idea of the trend in the stability. The drug is carbohydrate based. The HeLa cells are used for in-vitro confirmation of the principle. AFM studies further establish the presence of molybdate and its location in the micelle. The action of optical tweezers is expected to ensure easy maneavouring of the micellar drug and specific release at the desired location.
