As there is no theoretical limit on the number of possible generations of particles, it is possible that these new particles (at least the fourth generation) may get created in the 14 TeV center of mass p-p collision at the Large Hadron Collider with increased luminosity (we've considered Luminosity = 30 fb-1). We have considered three models for the fourth generation quarks (viz: the sequential fourth generation, the singlet quarks and the mirror quarks, all assumed to decay via top-like decay channels) and have attempted here to find out methods to separate top-like heavy quark (500 GeV ) signals from ordinary top background. In this study, we worked on both semi-leptonic and hadronic decay channels of top-like and top quarks. For semi-leptonic decay channels, we found a few variable (viz: 4R & ET ) through which one could separate the top-like signals (with acceptable amount of background) by applying cuts. But the hemisphere algorithm nicely separated the top-like signal with almost zero top background in the hadronic decay channel.
