Abstract
The propagation of the gravitational waves in Bianchi type-I universe is investigated. The wave equation for a general curved background space-time was derived which is followed by the derivation of the tensor perturbation wave equations in an anisotropic Bianchi type- I universe. An ansatz model was assumed for solving the aforementioned wave equations. Two cases of gravitational wave propagation were studied in Kasner space-time. Firstly, the gravitational wave was assumed to be propagating along the symmetry axis and, secondly, it was propagating normal to the symmetry axis. Few exact analytical solutions are obtained and analyzed for both of the above cases.
