    Abstract

    A 1,6-heptadiyne based polymer was synthesized using Hoveyda-Grubbs’ 2nd generation catalyst and post polymer modification was done to attach alkyne functionality to the polymeric backbone. Also, a azide functionalized β-D mannose was made and click reaction was performed via CuAAC to synthesize RCM-Man polymer. All respective compounds and polymers were characterized successfully. The amphiphilic RCM-Man polymer self-assembled into micelle and capsule morphologies in DMSO and water respectively. Fluorescence spectroscopy was used to study the interaction of RCM-Man polymer with Con A.
