Abstract
The Cu-In-Zn-S (CIZS) quarternary quantum dots (QDs) has many fascinating characteristics including long lived emission, high PLQY, large Stokes’ shift. In the first phase of this dissertation, the time and work has been dedicated to understand the synthesis and photophysical properties of the reported QDs. A new scheme has been proposed for synthesizing CIZS/ZnS Core/Shell QDs. Synthesizing and calibrating the QD properties by changing the reaction temperature and molar ratio of precursors etc. were done. Finally the photophysical properties of the QDs were explored. The shelling of CIZS QD was done and the photophysical behavior of the core-shell CIZS QDs were investigated. Tri-exponential PL decay for both core and core-shell have been measured. The maximum PLQY of the core-shell QD is found to be 0.41.
