Abstract
The dynamics of charge carriers in semiconductors are of fundamental importance for their applications. In this dissertation, carrier dynamics of ZnO and Ni-doped ZnO nanoparticles is studied using the time-resolved pump-probe technique. ZnO nanoparticles' dynamics were found to be different from the doped one. Dynamics of the pristine sample indicated the presence of trap states which was dominating the dynamics of carriers. Dynamics for doped sample showed that carriers were able to be excited to the conduction band. Carrier Densities dependent studies suggest the dominance of trapped states.
