Abstract

The confined hydrogen atom (CHA) model was first studied by Michels et al. [1] in 1930 to study the effect of extreme pressure on it. In this work, analytical expressions for the Helmholtz free energy, specific heat, mean energy, and entropy for a confined hydrogen atom have been presented. The thermodynamic properties in CHA have been studied using the contribution of the states 1s, 2s, 2p, 3s, 3p, 3d, 4s, 4p, 4d, 4f of the confined Hydrogen atom. Thee Boltzmann statistics is exploited to determine the partition function of the system.
