Abstract

Now a days, world is facing a problem of environmental pollution issue because of the excess consumption of fertilizer and food insecurity also a major problem and because of this, many country is facing socio-economic growth and children are suffering from malnutrition and stunting growth. These problem can be resolved by selecting the high nutritional value crop and low Yield penalty accession. By considering high nutritional value crop, Setaria italica was selected, which fulfill high nutritional value and on the basis of result from pipe experiment, low yield penalty accession as well as high yield penalty was selected to find the difference between these accession so that valuable insight can get for improving yield in crop. Nitrogen is directly related with the yield and root is directly might be responsible to uptake the nitrogen. In the experiment, result shows that RSA (Root System Architecture) in low yield penalty accession (SI114) alters their structure under Nitrogen starvation condition and RSA in high yield penalty accession (SI58) doesn’t alter their structure under Nitrogen starvation condition. Some genes expression was also analyzed to get the idea about responsible gene. According to the results, Plants improves Nitrogen uptake efficiency by inducing and suppressing the genes. Nitrate transporter genes NRT2.1 and 2.3 (High affinity transporter) upregulate their expression in SI114 (insensitive accession), so it might be responsible to increase the uptake of nitrate and other gene as: CEPR, LBD37,38, NLP7 and CIPK-CBL complex is directly induced the expression of High affinity transporter and low affinity transporter in insensitive accession. Nitrate uptake is also regulated by increasing in the number of lateral root, as result shows that SI114 has more number of lateral root and gene responsible for increasing the number of lateral root also upregulate in SI114. CBL7, CLV1, WAK4, ACR4 and AXR5 is responsible to increase the lateral root growth by upregulating and downregulating their expression.
