Abstract
In the present thesis, we aim to study the effects of a long range interaction, in particular a repulsive Yukawa potential, on a disordered s-wave superconductor. In such a case, there are two global competing orders- the charge density wave and superconductivity. With this motivation, normal state problem is studied where the superconductivity is turned off by means of a mean-field theory as a starting point. Thus, charge ordering is investigated in both Hartree and Fock channels. The 2D parameter space of the disorder strength s and range of interaction r₀ is explored to understand how it affects the charge density wave. Our aim is to capture purely the effects of a long range interaction.
