The extraordinary concept of weak value amplification has attracted considerable attention for addressing foundational questions in quantum mechanics and for metrological applications . This quantum mechanical concept can also be formulated within the realm of wave interference as nearly destructive interference between the eigenstates of the measuring observable . Since, a number of other seemingly counter-intuitive wave phenomena also originate from such fine interference effects , on conceptual and practical grounds it is important to investigate whether weak value amplification can evolve naturally in such scenario. Taking example of one such intriguing wave interference phenomenon, namely, Fano resonance, we show that indeed weak value amplification naturally arises due to near destructive spectral domain interference between a continuum mode and a narrow resonance mode. In order to elucidate this, we experimentally demonstrate weak value amplification concept by generating nearly destructive interference of two paths of an interferometer having slightly rotated linear polarization states of light. The weak value amplification of extremely small polarization rotation effect is manifested as dramatic changes in the polarization state of light, which acts as the pointer here. We go on to demonstrate that giant Faraday rotation in Fano resonant magneto-plasmonic crystal is a manifestation of such natural weak value amplification. This intriguing finding of natural weak value amplification may provide new insights on rich variety of interference related wave phenomena leading to potentially interesting applications.
