Abstract
Introduction of an alkylamine to an electron deficient pyrimidine ring helped to achieve site selective functionalization under Palladium catalysis. A straightforward strategy was developed for remote arylation and olefination at C5-position of the N-(tert-butyl)pyrimidin- 2-amine core with easily available aryl halides and alkenes respectively. Similar selectivity was also achieved when oxidative arylation was done with polyfluoroarenes. The transformation was accomplished with a wide scope and functional group tolerance.
