Abstract
Herein we convey a straightforward strategy comprising a visible-light-induced radical cascade process to assemble 1-thio-3-heteroaryl bicyclo[1.1.1]pentane molecules which can act as bioisosteres in drug discovery to improve the pharmacokinetic properties of the drug candidates. This three-component protocol is completely metal- catalyst-free, in which quinoxaline-2(1H)-one itself acts as a sensitizer, making it unrivaled. A green solvent system and visible-light irradiation at low temperatures are adopted to unlock novel avenues in drug development.
