Abstract
Very surprisingly, recent research works have shown that meta-oriented donor-acceptor functional groups also show intense charge transfer. These ultra-small meta fluorophores have a wide variety of applications like they can be used in bioimaging, white light emission, optoelectronic, etc. This innovative strategy of novel meta fluorophores will lead to a new beginning in the field of fluorophores. So, in this direction, fourteen compounds have been chosen, seven compounds belong to the meta series, and the other seven compounds belong to the para series. In these compounds donor group was fixed, and acceptor group was varied to check whether the meta series shows the charge transfer and whether the meta and para series follow the same trend of charge transfer. For this, computational studies, as well as experimental studies, have been performed. Computational studies have been performed using DFT at B3LYP function and 6-31G basis set.
