Abstract
This thesis details the structure and development of pulsed wave electron spin resonance (pulsed ESR) spectrometer to be used in quantum information processing. Detailed design of ESR resonator namely omega resonator, resonator ringdown, dead time and other microwave electronics have been discussed. Free induction decay (FID) signals of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and Galvinoxyl samples have been detected using reflection measurement technique and the spin dephasing time is reported. Modification to the setup is also explained to detect spin-echo signal and acquire Rabi oscillations experimentally.
