Abstract
An algorithm has been designed to cater to a quantitative comparison between two chemosensors. It essentially pinpoints the wavelength at which a Poincare section need to be drawn in order to have a lower dimensional representation of that data, which is more convenient to work with. This algorithm also helps to amplify small changes which go unnoticed when left to human judgment. It also helps identify an isosbestic point with high precision. To test the efficacy of the code, a new chemosensor was developed. This 1,8-diaminonaphthlene based chemosensor has methionine attached to the amines to act as receptors for metal ions. Its basic spectroscopic studies were conducted and a near-IR fluorescence response was detected for the addition of Cu(II) salts in the system.
