Abstract
In this doctoral thesis, we explore several aspects of the out-of-equilibrium quantum dynamics of many-body quantum systems. We provide a systematic theoretical study of the dipolar coupled systems in the presence of dissipation and relaxation originating from local environments. Using such a theoretical prescription, we explain the emergence of several exotic non-equilibrium phenomena in the dissipative dipolar systems. Some of the examples, which we investigate here are prethermalization, discrete-time crystalline, and superradiance. For a better understanding of the abovementioned topic, we consider both undriven dipolar systems and driven dipolar systems where a weak periodic drive is applied as a drive. For both cases, we successfully find the emergence of several non-equilibrium states before the system reaches equilibrium with the thermal environment. Additionally, we thoroughly study the fundamental properties of such states to obtain the lifetime. To validate our theoretical results, we provide a comparison with the existing experimental evidence where we find an excellent qualitative agreement. In the end, we look into the applications of the long-lived non-equilibrium states of the dipolar systems in quantum computation and information processing. Our results show that in the entanglement storage device and the high-resolution spectroscopy, the presence of such states is beneficial. Finally, we also discuss the possible research areas where our works are relevant, i.e., quantum synchronization problem, non-markovian memory effects of the environment, quantum metrology, etc.
