Abstract

Cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes (CAACs) have been extensively utilised for stabilising reactive intermediates, catalysing various reactions, activating small molecules, and serving as ligands in organometallic chemistry. In this discourse, we explore a versatile approach that employs easily accessible initial substances to facilitate the production of stable hemilabile bidentate cyclic (alkyl)(amino)carbenes (CAACs) with diverse functionalities, particularly those with highly conjugated systems. This methodology enables the investigation of the luminescent characteristics of the complexes, as well as their catalytic activities. Also, we are discussing on few Cyclic amino barrelenes carbenes based ligands to study the reactivity and other catalytic properties compared to CAAC’s and NHC’s.
