Abstract
Spintronics is an exciting area of research involving transport properties that explicitly depends on spin degree of the carriers in a material. The main aspects of Spintronics research are, to efficiently induce spin polarized current in a non-ferromagnetic conductors , to device mechanism to detect and quantify such spin currents , and finally to manipulate spin currents with the help of a ‘gate’ with aim of performing logic operations. In the current project we aim to present a measurement scheme to efficiently detect spin currents injected in a paramagnetic metal from a ferro magnet , using a superconductor. We begin with a brief overview of some of the well established phenomenon in this field of Spintronics, namely, Gain Magnetoresistance (GMR), Tunneling magneto resistance (TMR), Spin Torque, Spin Hall effect and Inverse Spin Hall effect etc.
