Abstract
Light’s angular momentum can be classified into spin-angular momentum (SAM) and orbital angular momentum (OAM). In several materials the interconversion between SAM and OAM takes place, known as spin-orbit interaction (SOI) of light. Liquid crystal droplets and spatially tailored metasurfaces are examples of these type of novel optical materials. In this work the polarization properties of LC droplets and metasurface (in this case grating) have been studied from their scattering Muller matrix. The possibility of coupling LC and metasurface to enhance and tune SOI effects has also been discussed. vii
