Abstract

Symplectic Numerical Integrators bound energy and are suitable for long time evolution. There already exits a lot explicit symplecetic methods for separable unconstrained Hamilton. For such Hamiltonian, we have explored how to arrive fourth order result using second order method. While doing this, we encounter an extra term in the Hamiltonian which is in general non-seperable. To get explicit methods for a non-seperable Hamiltonian, we invoke the extended phase space methods.
