Abstract
In this study, we aim to prove the origin of the spectral feature called the Compton Hump, for low-mass X-ray binaries (LMXBs) like GX 339-4 in our galaxy. Additionally, we want to understand the origin of the Compton Hump in LMXBs, which would provide a lot more insight into the behavior and characteristics of such binary system. We initially take a data reduction approach to the problem, while using FPMs of the satellite Nustar to generate the tables containing values of different physical quantities in different spectral states. We obtain the primary results while using 2-3 different models on the 39 observation IDs considered for spectral fitting. We finally analyze the time variation and correlations in these data as well as the output after running Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMCs) on each ID to match our results with the literature and check if the newly obtained results are physically explainable.
