Abstract
This dissertation focuses on the synthesis of two different InP base core, core/alloy shell, core/alloy shell/ shell QD. As-prepared QDs were optically studied with absorption, PL spectroscopy and time resolved experiment. Two different colour emissive orange (PL max. 614 nm) and red (PL max. 647 nm) CASS were successfully prepared and optically studied. InP core QD was prepared following gas liquid phase synthesis using Zinc phosphide (instant PH3 gas generation with HCl) as low cost, more stable in air and less toxic phosphorus precursor of InP. As-prepared QDs after complete shelling with ZnSeS and outer most ZnS showed 12 to 18% PL QY. Excited state time constant was measured from time resolved experiment. Their average lifetime was 35 to 40 ns.
