Abstract

This study has identified novel DNA degrading copper nanoparticles with a superior bactericidal activity and anticancer activity than the ionic copper. This study also had shed light into their mechanism of action too. ACCC was found to be a better anticancer agent than the anti caner drug, cisplatin. This is the first report on the biological activity of an abnormal N heterocyclic carbene copper complex. Further studies needs to be carried out to understand more about its therapeutic potential. SCA is a promising candidate with its antibacterial and anticancer activity. To understand its potential fully, surface modification to increase its solubility is required.
