Abstract
The focus from classical cryptanalysis is being shifted to the attack strategies targeting the physical security of the cipher with improvement in computational resources and special purpose electronic devices. Fault attacks, active attacks against the implementation of the cryptographic algorithms pose serious threat to the security of cipher. In fault attacks, one tries to investigate the cipher and extract the secret information by generating faults in the encryption device and then comparing the fault free output with the faulty output. In the present work, we shall discuss differential fault analyses on Tiaoxin and AEGIS family of ciphers in a nonce reuse setting. We show how to recover the secret key of Tiaoxin and AEGIS state with minimum number of faults.
