Abstract
Present technological era demands for faster, smaller and more efficient ways to study and build instruments based on fundamental research. Nano structured bilayer thin film materials have been a popular demand for these applications. These structures are consistently used for studying the optical enhancements, spintronic applications and fundamental properties of some interesting quantum materials. One of the most exotic class is represented by Topological Insulators(TI). These materials have been a prominent subject to study for their interesting properties explained below. In the current project we are interested to study the change in magnetic order of Bi₂Se₂Te(BST)/Permalloy bilayer thin films. The study was conducted using a linear optical technique called Surface magneto-optical Kerr effect(SMOKE).
