Abstract
The quantum system of Diamond NV centre has many potential applications in the field of quantum computation. The three level system in diamond NV centre has been proved to be an effective quantum register following DiVincenzo’s criteria for physical realization of quantum computing. Previously, scientists have worked out some schemes to coherently manipulate the system through spin echo sequences for the purpose of quantum information processing. In this work, we have studied the system of Diamond NV centre and presented a theoretical formalism to manipulate quantum information in this system through optical excitation with the help of a control atom, being inspired from a similar formalism proposed for a Silicon based system. Here we have showed how entanglement can be generated between two NV centres in the excited state of the control atom while the control atom itself remains disentangled from the system. Then we compared the resulting gate operation with the standard quantum gates which produce entanglement.
