Abstract
Perovskite compound have attracted the researchers tremendously in photovoltaics. The devices generally use condensed or mesoporous TiO₂ as electron transport layer (ETL) and 2, 2’ 7, 7’ -tetrakis-(N, N-dip-methoxyphenylamine) 9, 9’ - spirobifluorene as the hole transport layer. Most stable as well as most efficient perovskite solar cell till now having efficiency about 21.6%, uses TiO₂ as electron transport layer which requires sintering at 450⁰C which is not at all cost effective process as well as limited to flexible substrates. In this work we have synthesized low temperature processable ETL for perovskite solar cell and it is optimized by elemental (Al) doping and treatment with another oxide (TiOx) which shows an enhancement of the device performance both in efficiency as well as device stability. Only ZnO as ETL shows 7.56 % efficiency and stability 14%, after aluminium doping, efficiency was enhanced up to 10.06% and stability increased to 56% and for core shell heterostructure assembly efficiency further enhanced up to 12% and stability increased to 73% while conducting air degradation study for 50h in ambient condition. As organo halide perovskites are susceptible to moisture we have worked on inorganic quantum dot perovskite with organic dye as coharvester as a result efficiency as well as stability get improved. The efficiency of the AZO/QDs: Dye/Spiro device is 8.24% and air stability was 100% whereas without dye, efficiency is 6.32% stability was 83% in air for 30h.
