Abstract
The reported modified Aib analogue of Aβ 34-36 sequence self-assemble into an amyloid-like fibril. The FT-IR studies reveal that the reported Aib analogue of Aβ 34-36 self-aggregate to form supramolecular antiparallel β-sheet-like structure through intermolecular hydrogen bonds. The readily staining nature of the compound with the dye Congo red and exhibiting the green gold coloured birefringence under the crossed polarizer reveals the property of amyloid beta peptide. This is further confirmed by circular dichroism spectroscopy. The studies reported here may have significance in the field of fibrillogenesis and can thrive new therapeutic strategies. Also, the benzyl modified amino acid analogues have been synthesized and fully characterized. The drug encapsulation has been studied. The spectroscopic studies show that the Bn-Trp-OMe-carbamazepine formulation leads to the pH-responsive sustained release of the encapsulated drug. The results presented here are promising for new drug formulations and sustained release to reduce adverse side effects.
