Abstract
The purpose of my thesis is to study the theoretical aspect of collision and decay experiments. Though the range of this subject is endless, I cover some topics in quantum field theory. In this regard, I first begin with the rough explanation of what I understood regarding what Quantum Field Theory is, why is it the way it is and what is done in Quantum Field Theory. Then, I take scalar field theory and study its different aspects. Then, I study Interacting Field theory viz Φ⁴ theory and mainly focus on the two point correlation function and derive a form for the correlation function in terms of the free field theory. Then, I study Wick's theorem. Then, I study how the correlation function can be calculated from Feynman Diagrams. Then, I describe how scattering amplitude can be found from Feynman Diagram. At last, I study the Feynman rules for scattering amplitude for the cases of fermions and Quantum Electrodynamics.
