Abstract

The presents work aims to investigate the spatial and temporal variation in ammonia oxidizing archaeal communities from Sundarbans eco-region based on the amplification, sequencing and phylogeny of subunit A of archaeal ammonia monoxygenase gene (amoA). It also tests the hypothesis that estuarine environments of Sundarbans harbor novel archaeal communities based on phylogenetic approaches.
