Abstract
Carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond formation is the essence of organic synthesis and basis for the formation of complicated compounds. There has been a great progress in this field because of the development in transition metal catalyzed processes. Many transition metal catalysed coupling reactions such as Suzuki, Stille, Heck, Olefin metathesis reaction have been widely used in the synthesis of natural product and biologically important compounds.However, these transition metal catalysed reactions have some drawbacks such as cost of transition metal catalyst or ligands, requirement of controlled reaction condition,difficulty in separating the metal from the product.And moreover, in view of increased attention to environmental problems,avoiding transition metal in the synthesis is always preferred.Therefore, metal free process is of increasing importance nowadays. Many attractive methods are being developed in the field of metal free oxidative bond formation approach for the synthesis of important molecular scaffolds. These are very important as it allow cost reduction and increased product safety because we are avoiding trace impurities of metal. Many oxidants can be used as an effective alternative to the more common transition metal promoted oxidation reaction.This work will demonstrate an efficient way for C-N bond formation with the help of oxidant which is very mild, cheap and reusable. Therefore, this method allows the replacement of many methods known for transition metal catalysed reactions and also methods of oxidative bond formation reaction using harsh oxidant.
