Abstract

Herein, we have presented an efficient protocol for the synthesis of phenyl (1 (pyrimidin-2-yl)-1H-indol-2-yl) methanone via cobalt-catalyzed decarboxylative acylation of indoles with α-Oxo carboxylic acids using pyrimidine as a directing group (DG). This transformation proceeds smoothly with exclusive regio-selectivity, wide substrate scope and various functional group tolerance.
