Milk is a major constituent in various areas in life. Any chemical present in milk should be treated as a serious issue. The probability of accumulation of pesticide residue in milk is very high since pesticides has properties like lipophilicity and biomagnification. The targeted pesticides were fifteen Organo Chlorine Pesticides (OCP) and three Pyrethroids. The study area is Jaguli in Nadia district of West Bengal. Thirty samples were collected and quantification of pesticides performed by following Modified Quecher’s method.α-HCH(α-hexachlorohexane), gamma-HCH(Lindane), α-Endosulfan, β-Endosulfan and Endosulfan sulfate were detected. None of them were above MRL values. α-Endosulfan was present in more than 60% of samples.
