Abstract
The present work represents synthesis of diipeptides containing tyrosine and α-aminoisobutyric acid by solution phase methods, their characterization by NMR, FTIR and Mass spectroscopy, their morphological studies by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy. The dipeptide self-assembled to form polydisperse microspheres. It also looks at the synthesis of the foldamer containing L-tyrosine, α-aminoisobutyric acid and Xylilidine diamine by solution phase methods, their characterization by NMR, FT-IR and Mass spectrometry. Morphological studies by Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy shows that the peptide form microporous material. Further, we have used the foldamer as an in situ reducing and stabilizing agent for the formation of gold nanoparticles. Finally, the gold nanoparticles decorated foldamer act as a catalyst for the Suzuki–Miyaura cross-coupling reaction in water.
